Job summary

Stantec is hiring a Summer Engineering Internship in the Energy and Resources division, Hydro and Dams group. The role targets a college senior or graduate student to support diverse projects and gain hands-on experience across civil, geotechnical, and water resources disciplines.

The program emphasizes real-world engineering tasks, mentorship from experienced professionals, and exposure to CAD, GIS, and geotechnical analyses while preparing for a future in the industry.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program.
• Completed at least 3 years of undergraduate coursework in a relevant field.
• Eager to learn field methods and assist geotechnical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing proposals, including project scheduling and cost estimates.
• Assist in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals and correspondence, tracking project costs.
• Perform simple calculations and data entry; exposure to CAD, GIS, GeoStudio, RocScience, Bluebeam.
• Assist in writing technical documents such as calculation packages and design reports.
• Support field investigations and assessment of subsurface conditions from logs and test data.
• Support geotechnical material characterization using lab and field data.
• Perform research and vendor inquiries.
• Learn regulatory requirements and design standards.
