Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks an experienced engineering leader to manage Geotechnical and Materials Testing teams in Macon or Marietta, Georgia. You will direct project delivery, technical quality, safety, staff development, and client growth as Group Manager.

The role combines technical mentorship with operations leadership and client partnership, overseeing multidisciplinary projects and coordinating field and lab testing while pursuing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in geotechnical or construction materials testing with leadership experience
• Experience overseeing field testing and lab coordination for CMT and soils
• Ability to review geotechnical and materials testing reports for accuracy and judgement
• Strong business acumen with P&L experience
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities
• Committed to safety and engineering excellence

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical and construction materials testing projects from proposal to closeout
• Provide oversight on field and lab testing coordination for CMT and soils
• Review reports for accuracy, completeness, and professional judgement
• Assemble project teams, set expectations, and manage lifecycle
• Oversee budgets, schedules, resources, and margins
• Ensure safety, quality control, and engineering best practices
• Support field operations and coordinate with labs, drilling, subcontractors, and clients
• Develop new business through networking and client relationships
• Lead branch operations including hiring, coaching, and training plans
• Promote company values and engagement through leadership
