Job summary

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. seeks a Field Engineering Technician to support geotechnical engineering in our Providence, Rhode Island office.

You will work at project sites and in-office, collaborating with a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-quality field data and engineering deliverables. Responsibilities include field logging, soil and groundwater sampling, concrete testing per ACI, and on-site inspections.

Qualifications

• 0 - 5 years relevant experience.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Valid driver's license and transportation to project sites.
• Willingness to travel locally; occasional out-of-town travel.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tasks and assist with the technical execution of projects.
• Field oversight and logging of subsurface explorations and soil/bedrock classification.
• Perform soil and groundwater sampling for geotechnical analyses.
• Perform concrete sampling and testing per ACI standards.
• Provide on-site construction oversight and inspections for earthwork and foundations.
• Gather data for engineering deliverables and prepare inspection reports.
• QA/QC responsibilities in field and office.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and project team members.
• Assist on projects outside primary responsibilities as needed.
