Job summary

Shannon & Wilson, an employee‑owned geotechnical consulting firm, is seeking a Mid‑Level Field Technician to perform field and laboratory testing, operate a nuclear densometer, and process test data using computer software.

The role requires 5–9 years of field or lab experience, strong math skills, willingness to travel, ability to work independently, and good written and verbal communication; multiple benefits and a path toward professional growth are offered.

Qualifications

• 5 to 9 years of field and/or lab technician experience
• Current Nuclear Gage Safety and Transport Training
• Current certifications in soils, concrete and asphalt testing (WAQTC, ACI and NICET) desirable
• Current HAZWOPER certification
• Must produce accurate field notes and sketches
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel to support other Shannon & Wilson offices
• Valid driver license and insurable driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing
• Perform laboratory testing
• Operate a nuclear densometer
• Use and maintain scientific testing equipment
• Process test data using computer software
• Communicate test progress and present test results
• Interact and communicate with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels
• Follow Shannon & Wilson’s Quality Assurance policy
• Follow and promote Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor
