Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Marietta, GA seeks a field support student to assist geotechnical fieldwork and subsurface exploration activities. You will help coordinate drilling operations, obtain site access, and prepare field plans under supervision.

This role requires pursuing a Civil Engineering degree and readiness for outdoor field conditions. Qualifications include a current pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree, plus certifications to be completed within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must complete specified certifications within defined introductory periods.
• Valid driver's license required when driving for ECS entities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Must be dependable, detail oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geotechnical fieldwork and subsurface exploration activities.
• Support scheduling and coordination of drilling operations.
• Assist with site access, utility clearances and site evaluations.
• Prepare drilling instructions and field plans as needed.
• Perform boring and test pit layout using surveying and GPS.
• Observe and classify soil samples and test pits.
• Assist with boring logs and location diagrams.
• Perform hand auger borings to obtain soil samples.
• Support site seismic testing and field investigations.
• Observe foundation construction and ground improvement activities.
• Assist with laboratory testing activities as needed.
• Document field observations and support data collection.
