General Responsibilities:

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This includes performing and leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and preparing related reports. Review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track project progress and budgets, and recommend changes. Research design and construction issues. Evaluate laboratory or field data for reports. Communicate engineering issues clearly to clients and project teams. Services may be provided for projects in public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Follow safety rules, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety concerns.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Develop engineering knowledge through assigned tasks.
• Assist in research, data collection, field observation, inspection, and testing, and prepare reports.
• Evaluate routine laboratory and field data for reports.
• Consult with technical staff and supervisors on projects.
• Perform basic calculations and analysis.
• Draft routine proposals and assist with complex proposals.
• Use CAD software for plan drafting.
• Work with engineering technician crews and document activities.
• Work under supervision of a Professional Engineer.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s in Geotechnical preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.

Preferred Certification:

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI).
