The Summer College Intern in our Ashland, VA office will work on a range of projects under minimal supervision or with staff, gaining early professional experience.

Level 1 interns perform field tasks on construction materials testing projects, including field observation, sampling, testing, and meticulous documentation of results.

Qualifications

• Commitment to work at least 10 weeks during the summer.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc.)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Level 1 tasks on construction materials testing projects (field observations, sampling, testing).
• Documentation of results and data entry.
• Level 2 interns may assist in report creation and soil classification.
