Job summary

UES, Inc. seeks a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead regional projects in Southern Georgia. You will provide senior technical oversight, mentor and develop geotechnical staff, review designs, and contribute to proposals, client relations, and project execution.

This role emphasizes profitability, safe field operations, and effective communication with senior management, colleagues, and clients while applying geotechnical and CMT methods on diverse transportation and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• PE license with ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• 15+ years of geotechnical/CMT experience.
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and soil classifications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and write technical reports and memos.
• Ability to lead, manage, and communicate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical oversight on complex proposals and projects.
• Mentor engineers and project managers.
• Review reports, lot letters, and field recommendations.
• Develop, prepare, and update project proposals and technical reports.
• Lead business development, networking and marketing.
• Travel up to 70% for job sites and client engagements.
• Ensure project profitability and timely invoicing.
