Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Geological Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Lakewood, CO, with locations in St. Louis, MO and Tucson, AZ considered. This 12‑week internship begins May 17, 2027 and targets students enrolled in Geological/Geotechnical Engineering programs.

You will assist with field work, basic analyses, and design tasks while learning from senior staff. The program emphasizes safety, mentorship, and professional development within the Earth and Environment Team.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
• Demonstrated interest in Geological Engineering or related field and desire to advance skills related to WSP’s projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of Geological engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Geological Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Travel may be required depending on project needs.
