Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for the Geotechnical Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 in Lakewood, CO. The 12-week internship will expose you to civil/geotechnical engineering tasks while working with mentors and senior staff to gain hands-on project experience.

Ink ready to learn, you should be enrolled in an accredited civil or geotechnical program, able to travel up to 80%, lift up to 40 pounds, and authorized to work in the United States. No relocation or housing assistance provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering degree with anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in heavy earthwork, construction, or mining, to advance skills related to WSP’s work.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Assist US Mine Waste team with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
