Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking civil engineering students for geotechnical internship opportunities for the summer of 2027 in Cary, North Carolina. You will work outdoors, assist with field explorations, document conditions, and support engineers with lab and project deliverables while learning mentorship from licensed professionals.

Responsibilities include monitoring field activities, preparing field reports, and gaining hands-on experience in geotechnical testing and data interpretation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in Civil Engineering Bachelor’s or Masters’ program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical information.
• Valid driver’s license and a reliable form of personal transportation.

Responsibilities

• Monitors field explorations and construction projects under the guidance of engineers and scientists.
• Documents field conditions and completes field reports.
• May assist with routine laboratory testing and analyses.
• Assists engineers with office and project-related deliverables.
• Assists with organizing and maintaining lab and field equipment when needed.
• Maintains field readiness and keeps up to date on company training requirements. Conducts work safely and supports the safe work practices of team members.
