Job summary

MasTec Power Delivery is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support high‑voltage transmission and power delivery projects across the United States. You will assess soil conditions, develop foundation designs, and produce technical reports to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in geotechnical for utility or heavy civil projects, with strong analysis skills and the ability to collaborate with civil, structural, and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years geotechnical engineering experience in utility, transmission, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one is preferred.
• Experience with transmission structure foundation design is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical investigations, field evaluations, and site assessments for transmission and power delivery projects.
• Develop and review geotechnical reports, engineering calculations, recommendations, and design documentation.
• Evaluate subsurface conditions and provide recommendations for transmission structure foundations and other civil infrastructure.
• Support foundation design, including evaluation of bearing capacity, settlement, lateral capacity, uplift, and other geotechnical considerations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and constructible foundation solutions.
• Review soil and laboratory testing data and interpret geotechnical information for design applications.
• Provide geotechnical input for project development, cost estimates, schedules, and design decisions.
• Travel to project sites and field investigations as required.
