Job summary

GameChange Energy is seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to review geotechnical reports and support foundation design for solar projects in a hybrid office/site role in Norwalk, CT.

The candidate will identify risks, develop field test procedures, interpret results with engineers, and interact with clients and contractors. Travel about 20% and a salary range of $65,000–$85,000 per year are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports.
• Familiarity with applying engineering codes and standards to design decisions.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review site geotechnical reports during project development and support the GCE business development team with technical evaluations.
• Identify geotechnical design risks and provide preliminary recommendations for foundation type, embedment depth, and feasibility.
• Develop load test (pull test) procedures for field verification of foundation designs.
• Review and interpret pull test results and collaborate with internal geotechnical and structural engineers to finalize foundation designs.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and external engineers, and participate in project meetings as needed.
• Support continuous improvement of internal geotechnical design practices and standards.
