Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Rail Construction and Administration Management team. You will bridge soils at client sites with structures, performing design, calculations, and project management with a client-focused approach.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in civil or geotechnical engineering and a PE license, with 4+ years of geotechnical experience. Travel to various sites and flexible scheduling are expected, along with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering is required.
  • PE license (registered professional engineer) is required.
  • 4+ years of Geotechnical analysis and design experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical engineering design, project proposals, and management duties.
  • Process design calculations and develop project scopes and schedules.
  • Travel to job sites for observation and ensure constructive client communication.
  • Provide constructible designs, meet deadlines, and maintain high client service.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support diverse terrains and conditions.
