Job summary

Actalent in Kirkland, WA seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support and, depending on experience, manage geotechnical projects from scoping through field exploration, analysis, reporting, and construction support. Collaboration with engineers, geologists, technicians, clients, contractors, design teams, and public agencies is expected.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• EIT license with goal to obtain PE.
• BS in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with geology focus.
• 1+ years of experience with test pits and test boring.
• Office and field work experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and, as experience allows, manage geotechnical projects from initial scoping through completion.
• Plan and participate in field exploration programs, including test pits and test borings.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for shallow and deep foundations, including bearing capacity and settlement evaluations.
• Conduct analyses related to settlement, retaining structures, and earth pressures.
• Evaluate slope stability and provide recommendations for slopes and embankments.
• Prepare clear, concise geotechnical reports and design recommendations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to integrate geotechnical findings into civil designs.
• Coordinate with contractors and public agencies during construction to provide support.
