The Geotechnical Engineer at Eagle Mine LLC provides geotechnical support to the mine planning group and operations, under direction from the Senior Geotechnical Engineer. The role applies rock mechanics and ground control principles to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities include designing ground support patterns, inspecting areas, monitoring instruments, updating stress models, and training underground staff.

Formación

• B.S. in Geological Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of rock mechanics experience in an operational setting.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations and ground support design.
• Deswik or Vulcan experience preferred.
• Rocscience suite (Dips, Unwedge, RS2) proficiency required.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Awareness of MSHA regulations.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently.
• Project management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design and evaluate ground support patterns using empirical, numerical, and analytical methods.
• Inspect areas and prepare documentation and QAQC reports.
• Collaborate with Mining Engineers to incorporate geotechnical considerations into mine plans.
• Manage expansion and calibration of the microseismic system.
• Plan, monitor and track ground support rehabilitation activities.
• Review monthly mine plans for geotechnical concerns using field data.
• Update life-of-mine stress model and assess impacts of design changes.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of underground instrumentation.
• Collect, analyze, and report geotechnical monitoring data.
• Coordinate with departments and contractors to plan geotechnical projects.
• Develop and present underground geotechnical training.
• Assist with geotechnical mapping and core logging.
• Other duties as assigned.
