Job summary

Mi-Tech Services Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to perform analyses, prepare reports and lead field explorations for infrastructure projects in the United States. You will collect samples, coordinate lab testing, and communicate results to project teams.

The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical background, 3+ years in geotechnical engineering, and progress toward a PE license. Strong knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and depth to foundations is essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering; MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.
  • In process of receiving a PE license.
  • Experience in soil mechanics; rock mechanics; slope stability; foundations; tunneling and seismic design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations and write technical reports.
  • Manage field explorations, sample collection, geologic reconnaissance and mapping.
  • Coordinate and oversee geotechnical lab testing and communicate results to stakeholders.

In your role as an Geotechnical Engineer at Mi-Tech, you’ll perform geotechnical engineering and geological analyses and calculations. You will prepare and write technical engineering and other reports. You will manage/ perform field explorations, collection of samples, geologic reconnaissance, and mapping. You will assign and manage the geotechnical lab testing and communicate results.

What It Takes

  • BS in Civil Engineering / MS Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • In process of receiving a Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Work experience (and/or coursework) in one or more of the following areas: soil mechanics; rock mechanics; rock and soil slope stability; shallow and deep foundations; tunneling; micro tunneling; seismic design; earthquake engineering; and retaining structures.
  • Knowledge and experience of field/construction coordination and observation in one or more of the following areas: logging geotechnical explorations, interpretation of installation and recording of geotechnical instrumentation, field reconnaissance, and/or underground work.
  • Experienced in the use of geotechnical modeling software, including L‑Pile, RSpile, Settle3D, Slide, or similar to perform deep foundation analyses, settlement assessments, seepage assessments, liquefaction assessment and to interpret results for design recommendations.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Expected Salary Range: $75,000 USD - $105,000 USD
