Job summary

SOCOTEC US in Campbell Hall, NY seeks a Geotechnical Engineer with NY PE or ability to obtain licensure. You will develop project scopes, manage field and laboratory work, analyze subsurface data, and prepare technical reports for construction projects.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in civil engineering or geology required.
• New York PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure; NICET/ACI are a plus.
• 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports and proposals.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and project objectives.
• Coordinate daily scheduling of staff assignments for field and laboratory assignments in support of projects.
• Organize and oversee geotechnical field investigations, coordinate and monitor drilling operations, analyze subsurface data, and evaluate laboratory test results.
• Provide support and leadership for regional staff, along with technical support for staff and clients.
• Conduct site visits to conduct or monitor work being performed, provide technical guidance, and address emergent issues.
• Prepare technical reports, evaluations, and construction-level documents summarizing geotechnical findings and recommendations. Regularly interface with clients and their respective project teams to maintain client positive client relations and quality of service.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring and retention of staff.
• Perform testing and/or inspection of materials as necessary, inclusive of all associated documentation and reporting activities.
• Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing, as needed.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Other related duties may be assigned.
