Certerra is a nationally recognized provider of engineering, testing, inspection, and certification services supporting innovation, quality assurance, and resilient infrastructure. We are expanding in the Hawaii market and seek geotechnical engineers at multiple levels for large, multi-year projects in Hawaii.

The role involves evaluating subsurface conditions, supporting foundation and earthwork design, producing clear reports, and providing construction guidance to ensure safety and stability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis.
• 0–10+ years geotechnical engineering experience preferred, including subsurface investigations and report preparation.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in geotechnical analysis software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and subsurface evaluations.
• Analyze soils, rock, and groundwater for foundations and earthwork design.
• Prepare geotechnical reports documenting site conditions and recommendations.
• Provide construction support and observe foundation systems and site preparation.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and environmental teams to deliver projects.
