Summary

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to perform various geotechnical engineering services. These services include technical evaluations and project management/administrative support related to geotechnical engineering. The position requires four (4) to seven (7) years of experience in geotechnical or a similar engineering field. Experience with deep and shallow foundations, laboratory soil analyses, and technical report issuance with limited supervision is required.

Positional Responsibilities

Under the supervision of senior engineering professionals, the individual will apply strong analytical skills in geotechnical engineering across multiple markets, including commercial and telecommunications industries. Tasks include:

  • Coordinate with geotechnical drilling subcontractors for field investigations.
  • Perform soil/rock classifications and laboratory analyses for geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Conduct field resistivity testing, foundation monitoring, hand auger and cone penetrometer testing, and soil logging as needed.
  • Complete geotechnical calculations for foundation capacity, pavement design, earth retention systems, etc.
  • Consult with related disciplines during and after analysis and report preparation.
  • Prepare and compile reports and supporting documents for all technical analyses.
  • Manage workload to meet project timelines.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and other investigation aspects.

Due to project timelines, the candidate should be capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills.

Computer Software Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience with geotechnical analysis programs like Shaft and gINT is a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience with slope stability software such as STABL Suite or Geoslope is a plus.

Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution required; M.S. is a plus. EI registration is required; PE registration is preferred. Four (4) to seven (7) years of geotechnical engineering experience, specifically with foundations, is required.

Travel

Less than 10% travel may be required for project meetings and field investigations.
