Job summary

Accura Engineering in Nashville, TN, seeks a Civil Engineer to assist in preparing plans, specs, and reports, and to perform basic engineering calculations under supervision of senior engineers. You will support design and drafting with AutoCAD Civil 3D, conduct site visits, assist with permitting and coordination with clients, and participate in internal meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 3–5 years of relevant geotechnical/related field experience
• Georgia PE license required
• 3–5 years GDOT project experience
• Familiar with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team environment
• Internship or co-op in civil engineering preferred
• Exposure to MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater tools preferred

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) projects
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
