Job summary

Accura Engineering in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer I to contribute to plans, analyses, and fieldwork under experienced engineers. You will support permitting, client coordination, and project delivery while developing technical and communication skills in a collaborative team environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, field data collection, and coordination across disciplines to ensure quality outcomes. EIT-eligible candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant geotechnical experience.
• EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
