Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer I to join our team in the Atlanta area. You will assist with plans, reports, and calculations under supervision, supporting design and field activities.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 1–5 years of geotechnical exposure, and EIT or progress toward it. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MS Office is important, with internship experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1–5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations under supervision.
• Support design and drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and client coordination.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 1-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or related field
• EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
