Job summary

Foth, headquartered in Wisconsin, seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to support environmentally related projects in a hybrid or in-office role in our Duluth or Minneapolis, MN offices. The candidate will lead geotechnical design, earth structures, and marine foundation analyses while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Required: 5+ years civil/geotechnical experience and a Bachelor’s in a related field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil engineering work with a geotechnical focus in heavy civil design and construction
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• Experience with waterfront facilities design including piles, sheet piling, slurry walls (preferred)
• EIT and/or PE certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead project design through technical reports, geotechnical calculations, analysis, and modeling
• Provide design, construction observation, and geotechnical characterization support for heavy civil, upland, and in-water remediation projects
• Support pile driving analysis, dynamic pile testing, CAPWAP, and collaborate with structural engineers on foundation designs
• Perform geotechnical analyses for heavy-lift and temporary works foundations with settlement estimates and bearing capacity
• Collect data, analyze slope stability, manage groundwater, and prepare boring logs and lab data summaries
