Job summary

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. in Falls of Rough, KY, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to assist on a Dam Safety Modification project.

You will plan and execute geotechnical investigations, analyze soil data, and support foundation design for heavy civil infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree with a geotechnical concentration, 3+ years of related experience (or 5+ years with undergraduate geotechnical background), and knowledge of geotechnical software such as gINT,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical concentration.
• 3+ years of related experience, or 5+ years with undergraduate geotechnical background.
• Experience in field investigations, lab testing, and construction oversight.
• Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software such as gINT, PLAXIS, SLOPE/W.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geotechnical investigations with field exploration and lab testing.
• Support geotechnical reports, recommendations and technical documentation.
• Assist in foundation design and earthwork evaluation for heavy civil projects.
• Interpret soil and rock data for stability analysis and other evaluations.
• Perform site visits during construction to ensure compliance with recommendations.
• Coordinate with civil, structural and environmental engineers.
• Use geotechnical software and tools for analysis and modeling.
• Maintain organized records of geotechnical data, reports and correspondence.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Lead Geotechnical Engineer.
