Job summary

The Tully Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a $375M USACE Lock and Dam project in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. The role involves coordinating rebar detailing, managing construction documentation, and maintaining quality control on site.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate detailing, review, and submittal of rebar shop drawings and steel reinforcement plans.
  • Review and schedule rebar deliveries based on project schedule and approved shop drawings.
  • Monitor daily work activities for production and schedule tracking.
  • Create and manage pertinent construction documentation such as redline drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Obtain, evaluate, submit, and track submittals to owners/customers.
  • Obtain material quotes from suppliers and submit purchase orders for approval.
  • Accurately track, maintain, report counts of materials used, and on‑hand required.
  • Track invoices, receipts for field purchase orders and maintain field purchase order files.
  • Review, understand plans, drawings, and steel reinforcement details for heavy civil projects.
  • Assist and manage jobsite document control.
  • Strong ability to command daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
  • Strong written and verbal skills pertinent in developing and maintaining client, owner, subcontractor and vendor relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or QC Tech on heavy civil projects.
  • CAD knowledge in programs such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Revit. Experience with Bluebeam for drawing review and document management preferred.
  • Ability to work with a fast‑paced team in an aggressive construction environment.
  • Experience working on USACE projects.
  • Strong capabilities to multitask, work independently under pressure, and within tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with rebar detailing, steel reinforcement plan review, and installation.
  • Prior heavy civil site project experience such as water control, levee, concrete, and mass excavation experience are a plus.
