Job summary

Legacy Engineering, P.C. seeks a Geotechnical/CMT Staff Engineer to support geotechnical and materials testing/inspections on a variety of public and private sector projects. The role includes field observations, laboratory analysis, and report preparation.

Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing field reports, conducting geotechnical analyses, evaluating data, and developing proposals. EIT toward PE is preferred; BS in Civil Engineering required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• EIT working toward PE preferred.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software such as GeoSystems, Gint, L-Pile, MSEW is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review field reports, internal correspondence, and geotechnical engineering reports.
• Perform geotechnical analyses based on site conditions and requirements to support project designs.
• Evaluate laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
• Review and interpret data and test results.
• Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, plans, technical specifications, and reports, including day to day correspondence.
• Develop and maintain clients and actively participate in professional and related industry organizations.
• Support field instrumentation and monitoring activities.
• Support the office’s Geotechnical Engineering and CMT departments as required.
• Follow company safety standards, site safety standards, and provide all required permitting.
• Contact vendors; research literature and regulatory requirements; prepare designs.
