Job summary

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with 3 to 7 years of experience for our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

The role involves supporting the Construction Observation & Testing group, coordinating drilling projects, supervising junior staff, and producing geotechnical exploration reports. You will perform engineering calculations, review lab testing, and develop scopes, fees, proposals and budgets for new projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field of study.
• P.E. or EIT is REQUIRED.
• 4 to 7 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Own transportation, valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Enjoy working outdoors.
• NICET, ACI and/or other certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide task support to the Construction Observation & Testing group.
• Coordinate and manage drilling projects and oversee junior staff with management of these projects, as well as visual classification and log preparation.
• Coordinate and review laboratory testing.
• Prepare complete geotechnical exploration reports.
• Perform engineering calculations, including settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, pavement design and slope stability.
• Generate scopes and fees for new projects and prepare proposals and budgets.
