Job summary

The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Little Rock to coordinate investigations, analyses, and design of complex civil works projects including earthen dams and levees. You will review sites for design suitability and prepare QA and design reports for preliminary and final designs.

You will also review historic documents, conduct field investigations, and plan installation of instrumentation such as piezometers, settlement gages, and tiltmeters for major civil

Qualifications

• Geotechnical engineering skills and project coordination.
• Experience with earthworks, foundations, and instrumentation.
• Strong ability to prepare and review technical reports and QA documents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate investigations, analyses, and design of earthen dams, levees, excavations, tunneling, dewatering, instrumentation, foundations.
• Review geotechnical sites for design suitability.
• Prepare QA and design reports for investigations, surveys, and final design.
• Review historic foundation and soil/rock documents.
• Conduct field trips to assess foundation preparations and drainage issues.
• Plan layout and installation of physical measurement devices like piezometers and gages.
