Geotechnical Engineer & Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Compensation:

• Geotechnical Engineer: $55,000–$80,000 + Discretionary Bonus + Profit Sharing
• Senior Geotechnical Engineer: $120,000–$170,000 + Discretionary Bonus + Profit Sharing
• Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability, 401(k) with 3% employer contribution, 7 paid holidays, PTO, professional license and society membership reimbursement

Geotechnical Engineer – Early Career

What You'll Do:

• Conduct field investigations and subsurface explorations
• Perform geotechnical analysis, soil and rock evaluations, and materials testing
• Support foundation design and other geotechnical systems
• Prepare geotechnical reports and recommendations
• Collaborate with civil engineers, contractors, and clients on project execution

Ideal Background:

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field (required)
• 1+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing
• EIT required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, GeoStudio, or similar geotechnical software
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

What You'll Do:

• Lead complex and routine geotechnical projects from proposal to completion
• Manage project teams, review analysis, and ensure technical excellence
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff
• Support business development and marketing activities
• Serve as an Authorized Project Reviewer and contribute to risk and quality management

Ideal Background:

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
• 8+ years post-PE experience in geotechnical consulting
• PE license in KY, TN, OH, IN or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Strong leadership, business development, and communication skills
• Book of business and client network strongly preferred
