Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. partners with a North Jersey geotechnical firm to hire a Geotechnical Engineer / Technical Manager. You will lead design and field oversight for critical infrastructure projects and supervise staff.

This role blends client interaction, detailed reporting, and mentoring of junior engineers, with growth opportunities in a collaborative, technically strong team environment.

Qualifications

• BS and/or MS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Strong background in foundation design, SOE, and subsurface investigations.
• Experience with NYC/NJ building codes is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, gINT/OpenGround, DeepEx, GRLWEAP, APile, and Seep/W.
• OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design of deep and shallow foundations, retaining walls, and bulkheads.
• Manage and oversee subsurface investigations (SPT borings, CPT, VST, etc.).
• Perform geotechnical analysis including settlement, bearing capacity, and pile drivability.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and design recommendations.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and construction documents.
• Provide field oversight including subgrade inspections and foundation installations.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.
• Interface with clients, attend project meetings, and assist with proposals.

Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager – North Jersey

A well-established geotechnical engineering firm in North Jersey is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer / Technical Manager to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys a mix of design, field oversight, and client interaction on high-impact infrastructure and development projects.
