Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc in Columbia, SC seeks a Civil Engineer with 2–3 years geotechnical experience to assist in preparing plans, specs, and reports.

You will use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office, perform site visits, support permitting and client coordination, and help with budgeting.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; EIT preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months; internship experience welcome; competitive benefits.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.


• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.


• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.


• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.


• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.


• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.


• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field


• EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).


• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.


• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
