Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. in Columbia, SC, is seeking a civil engineering professional to assist with plans, specifications, and reports. You will perform basic calculations and support drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Expect site visits and data collection as part of ongoing projects. The role requires 1–5 years of geotechnical-related experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1–5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Internship or co-op in civil engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 1-5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or related field
• EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
