Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Atlanta. You will assist with plans, specifications, reports, and analyses under senior staff guidance.

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required, along with field data collection and regulatory coordination. The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 2–3 years geotechnical experience, and an EIT or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering plans, specs, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations under supervision of senior engineers.

• Conduct site visits and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting and regulatory coordination.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with teams.
• Support project managers with budgeting and scheduling.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or a related field
• EIT certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to relevant software such as MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred
