Job summary

LVI Associates is helping a well‑established engineering consulting firm in Houston recruit an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) for its geotechnical team. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in geotechnical work and wants to continue developing toward PE licensure.

You will collaborate with experienced professionals on projects across commercial, industrial, transportation and infrastructure sectors, receive mentorship, perform investigations, prepare reports, and contribute to design efforts in a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.
• Active EIT certification.
• 2-4 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing geotechnical reports and engineering calculations.
• Desire to grow professionally toward PE licensure.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geotechnical investigations, field exploration programs, and subsurface evaluations.
• Review and interpret field and laboratory testing data.
• Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and technical recommendations.
• Support foundation, pavement, retaining wall, and site development design efforts.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients throughout project delivery.
• Participate in site visits and construction-phase observations as required.
• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and technical documentation.
