Job summary

Condon Johnson & Associates is seeking a Geotechnical Earthquake Engineer to join the geotechnical engineering group. The role focuses on earthquake protection, ground improvement design, and budget planning to ensure bearing capacity and limit settlements.

You will support design with drafting and computer analyses to create construction-ready calculations, plans, and specifications, along with field investigations, site testing, and load-test evaluation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupations.
• Experience with soil behavior and shallow/deep foundation design; geotechnical earthquake engineering; slope stability analysis.
• Experience with liquefaction analysis, damage potential, lateral spreading, and settlements.
• Proficiency in Python and VBA to support geotechnical analyses; knowledge of time-dependent staged consolidation using Settle3D.

Responsibilities

• Develop ground improvement designs and budget costs to provide bearing capacity and limit static settlement.
• Draft and perform computer analyses to produce construction-ready calculations, plans, and specifications.
• Conduct field investigations, verification testing, and performance/analysis of load tests.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical design and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
