Malcolm Drilling in Mukwonago, WI seeks a Geotechnical Project Engineer to support geothermal well drilling operations. You will provide field engineering oversight, monitor drilling performance, and collaborate with the Drilling Superintendent and crews to deliver safe, efficient wells.

The role requires a civil/geotechnical background, 2+ years of field drilling experience, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geothermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of field drilling experience, preferably geothermal, oil & gas, or deep foundation projects.
• Knowledge of drilling fluids, cementing, casing, and directional drilling.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in remote field locations on a rotation.

Responsabilités

• Provide field engineering support during all phases of geothermal drilling projects.
• Monitor drilling parameters, wellbore conditions, and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with Drilling Superintendent, managers, and contractors to execute plans.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
• Report drilling activities, equipment usage, and progress daily.
• Assist with well design, casing and cementing programs, mud programs, and testing.
• Analyze drilling data to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot issues like stuck pipe or downhole tool failures.
• Coordinate with vendors for tools, materials, and services.
• Support cost tracking and verify contractor invoices.
• Participate in post-drilling reviews and continuous improvement.
