Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Wisconsin is seeking a Driller Helper to support geotechnical drilling operations. You will assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling equipment on-site, collect samples, and help ensure safe work practices.

The role requires map reading, following plans, basic mechanical aptitude, and willingness to travel for projects. A High School diploma or GED is required; OSHA 40 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read maps, follow directions and interpret plans.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and field data interpretation.
• Willingness to travel overnight for projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drilling operations, borings, and Geoprobe work.
• Locate boring positions using maps, plans, or GPS systems.
• Record drilling data accurately and report issues to supervisor.
• Perform routine maintenance on drill rigs and support vehicles.
• Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Load drill rigs and supplies daily and complete field docs.
• Travel overnight for project-related work as needed.
