Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Driller Helper to support geotechnical drilling operations, assist with borings and Geoprobe work, and help with setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling equipment. You will collect samples, record data, and ensure safe work practices on-site.

With a focus on accuracy and customer service, you will work closely with the Driller, follow plans and maps, and travel as needed for projects, supporting ECS’s core values and service standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• OSHA 40 certification is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
• Ability to travel overnight for project-related work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drilling operations, including borings and Geoprobe work.
• Locate boring positions in the field using maps, plans, or GPS systems.
• Record drilling data accurately and promptly.
• Report project issues to the Project Manager or Supervisor.
• Perform routine maintenance on drill rigs and support trucks; report repair needs.
• Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Load drill rigs and support vehicles with necessary supplies daily.
• Complete timesheets and field documentation promptly and accurately.
• Maintain professional behavior and quality standards.
