Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Driller Helper for the Delmar (Salisbury), MD office. You will support geotechnical drill rig operations, assist with sampling, and help maintain safety and equipment standards on-site.

This role offers hands-on training, opportunities to expand your skills across MD and DE projects, and a benefits package. A strong work ethic and reliability are essential, as is the ability to travel for out-of-town work when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to meet additional pre-employment requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic, team player attitude, responsible, and reliable.
• Must be able to work out of town when needed.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
• Clean and maintain company vehicle, drill rig, and equipment.
• Work closely with site leadership to ensure scope of work is met within schedule and safety standards.
• Produce daily reports and boring logs.
• Successful candidate will be encouraged to expand skills and certifications through company training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Your Role

Hillis-Carnes Engineering is actively seeking a Geotechnical Driller Helper for our Delmar (Salisbury), MD office. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the geotechnical drill rig operations and drilling techniques, but willing to train a good candidate. Candidate needs to be reliable, motivated, possess a positive attitude, and have a good work ethic. Experience with Hollow Stem Auger and Casing Advance Drilling, Mud Rotary Drilling, Split Spoon and Shelby Tube Sampling, and Rock Coring. Projects will be primarily located in MD and DE with the possibility of work in other states.
