Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. in Woodbine, MD is seeking a Full-time Drilling Manager for the Specialty Construction Group.
You will oversee daily scheduling, safety, and logistics of geotechnical drill crews, coordinate with clients and engineers, and manage equipment, supplies, and field data. The role requires 5+ years of geotechnical drilling experience and the ability to supervise drill crews while ensuring safety and project timelines.
Full-time Drilling Manager needed for our Specialty Construction Group branch in Woodbine, MD. Candidate must be dependable, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and able to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for the daily scheduling, safety, and logistics of the geotechnical drill crews. Responsibilities for this position will include the scheduling of all in-house and outside client drilling assignments and ensuring that the drill crews have drilling assignment sheets, boring location plans, and maps/directions to the project; the clearance of all underground utilities (public and private owned) through the Miss Utility system and attendance at on-site meetings with utility locators prior to drilling being performed; the ordering of drilling equipment, tools, and supplies for the drill crews; random site visits and inspections of the drill crews to ensure drilling is being completed in accordance with the project requirements, production goals and project schedules/deadlines are being achieved, and crews are working safely; fleet management/maintenance and DOT compliance; attendance at pre-bid, pre-drill, and project progress meetings; ensuring drill crew are conforming with project and Hillis-Carnes safety requirements; and reviewing field data from drill crews on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness (i.e. drill logs, daily reports, daily tailgate safety meetings, etc.).
