Job summary

Atlantic Testing Laboratories (ATL) is seeking Geotechnical Driller candidates to join our field teams across New York State. This role offers outdoor work, hands-on operation of drill rigs, and the chance to advance through certifications and licensure with paid training.

You will mobilize equipment to various sites, safely operate crews, document logs, install instrumentation, and collaborate with engineers and project managers in a dynamic, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and operate drill rigs and heavy equipment.
• Experience operating drill rigs or heavy equipment.
• Willing to travel throughout New York State.
• Valid New York CDL or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Positive attitude with ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Mobilize drilling equipment and supplies to locations across New York State.
• Safely operate and maintain drill rigs and related equipment.
• Maintain safe work sites per OSHA standards.
• Prepare borings, test pits, and monitor well construction logs.
• Install geotechnical instrumentation.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, geologists, scientists, project managers, and owner representatives.

Geotechnical Driller Qualifications:

• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
• Experience operating drill rigs or heavy equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with machinery
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic math skills
• Willing to travel throughout New York State
• A valid New York State CDL driver’s license or the ability to obtain within 3 months
• A positive attitude, with ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Enjoy working outdoors in a hands‑on environment

Geotechnical Driller Responsibilities:

• Mobilization of drilling equipment and supplies to various locations throughout New York State
• Safely operate and maintain drill rigs and associated equipment to execute geotechnical and environmental investigation programs in accordance with industry standards and project specific scopes of work
• Maintain safe work sites conforming to OSHA and project specified standards
• Prepare boring, test pit, and monitor well construction logs
• Install geotechnical instrumentation
• Effectively communicate with Engineers, Geologists, Scientists, Project Managers, and owner’s representatives
