Job summary

Certerra Southwest, LLC. Reno division seeks a Geotechnical Divisional Manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians in subsurface investigations, soil/rock analyses, and foundation design.

You will guide project delivery, client relations, and business development to grow revenue and market presence. Responsibilities include technical leadership, project oversight, staff mentorship, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis required at most firms
• MS in Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred for leadership level
• PE license typically required; multi-state PE preferred
• GE license valued where applicable (CA)
• Significant geotechnical leadership and business development experience valued

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical investigations, soil/rock testing, and subsurface exploration programs
• Review and approve engineering reports, foundation designs, slope stability analyses, and geohazard assessments
• Manage multiple projects with scope, schedule, and budgets; monitor profitability and utilization
• Identify and pursue new project opportunities and client relationships; lead proposals and fee negotiations
• Hire, mentor, and evaluate geotechnical engineers and staff; manage division budget and performance
