In the role of Geotechnical Designer/EIT, you'll be responsible for:

  • Assisting in planning and conducting geotechnical investigations and site assessments
  • Performing field tasks including drilling oversight and construction observations, primarily in the NY/NJ area, with occasional travel outside NY/NJ to support project demands in other regions
  • Assisting in geotechnical calculations and analysis for projects of various scales
  • Preparing geotechnical reports, calculation packages, drawings, and specifications
  • Utilizing geotechnical software such as LPILE, ALPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, GeoStudio, Settle3, and DeepEx
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams and being open to learning new tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering; a master's degree with Geotechnical emphasis is preferred
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • EIT certification or current registration for FE exam; candidates without their EIT will hold the title "Geotechnical Designer" and are expected to obtain their EIT for career advancement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to perform fieldwork as needed
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with GeoStudio, ESoft APILE, LPILE, GROUP, and Settle3 is preferred
  • Local candidates are preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Experience with MS Office and relevant software applications
