Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience preferred
  • Proven experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Experience with business development and revenue generation
  • Strong technical background across geotechnical investigations, foundations, earthwork, and related services
  • Previous leadership, team management, or department management experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Business Development & Client Growth
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with public and private sector clients throughout the Raleigh market

Technical Leadership
  • Provide senior-level geotechnical engineering oversight on a wide range of projects
  • Review, stamp, and seal engineering documents and reports
  • Lead project planning, design reviews, and quality assurance efforts
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards
Team Building & Department Management
  • Help establish and grow the Raleigh geotechnical team
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers and technical staff
  • Manage project workloads, staffing, and departmental performance
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture
  • Support long-term strategic planning for the office and region
