Wagman seeks a Construction Engineer to join its Heavy Civil Team in Newport News, VA. The role requires coordinating scheduling, procurement, and field operations on complex geotechnical projects.

The ideal candidate has up to 4 years of geotechnical experience, a Structural Engineering degree, and proficiency with Heavy Job, Viewpoint and CAD. This safety-sensitive position involves site work and compliance with federal contractor policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• 0–4 years experience in geotechnical engineering including testing, inspection, scheduling and quantity reporting.
• Proficiency with standard software and ability to read and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3-week crew schedules with field supervision to ensure safe, timely work.
• Monitor CPM schedule updates and coordinate with engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Review shop drawings, prepare RFIs, and maintain submittal logs; ensure compliance with codes and design instructions.
• Perform QA/QC testing such as pile load tests and soil nail verification.
