Job summary

Invenergy in Chicago is seeking a Senior Geospatial Analyst to support geothermal project development by conducting geospatial, geological, and site suitability analyses. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to inform routing, siting, permitting, and project decisions.

The ideal candidate combines strong GIS skills with a curious, problem-solving mindset and the ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Geosciences, Engineering, GIS, or related field.
• 2+ years of geospatial analysis or related renewable energy experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Portal, and ESRI workflows.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex spatial, environmental, and technical datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to travel occasionally as business needs require.
• Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geospatial, geological, and site suitability analyses to support geothermal projects.
• Compile and evaluate datasets to identify opportunities, constraints, and risks.
• Support site characterization through analysis of various datasets.
• Develop maps and GIS deliverables for project decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, permitting, environmental, and PM teams.
• Utilize ArcGIS to perform spatial analyses and data management.
• Maintain geospatial data quality and governance standards.
• Support contracting and sourcing with technical documentation.
• Track project progress and report findings to stakeholders.
• Assist with continuous improvement of tools and workflows.
• Support permitting, routing, siting, and interconnection activities.
