Job summary

cFocus Software seeks a Geospatial Project Manager to join our DHS program. This fully remote role requires a Public Trust Clearance and involves managing geospatial data, applications, and cross‑team coordination.

You will guide large, enterprise geospatial initiatives, leverage Agile/Scrum or Waterfall methods, and interact with government stakeholders to deliver mission‑critical outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12+ years of specialized GIS/Project Manager experience.
  • Active PMP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide programmatic support to the DHS GMO and guide geospatial data/app capabilities.
  • Facilitate data activities like information sharing requirements and situational-aware apps.
  • Support plans and policies for managing GII requirements across GMO projects and teams.
  • Be available to the COR 8:00 AM–4:00 PM Washington, DC local time, respond within 24 hours.
  • Implement geospatial IT solutions as part of a 5–10 person team or lead 3–4 people.
  • Use Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and other methodologies for project delivery.
  • Provide tactical recommendations to improve processes, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Implement geospatial IT solutions surrounding homeland security, law enforcement, and emergency management systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with GIS and IT systems integration.
  • Manage large or multiple teams effectively.
  • Demonstrate PM experience using Agile, PMP, etc., to manage work/resources.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to drive organizational change.

Job description

cFocus Software seeks a Geospatial Project Manager to join our program supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position is fully remote and requires a Public Trust Clearance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of specialized GIS/Project Manager experience.
  • Active PMP certification.
Duties
  • Provide programmatic support to the DHS GMO and offer subject‑matter guidance on managing and coordinating large‑scale enterprise geospatial data and application capabilities.
  • Facilitate data activities such as information sharing requirements and situational‑aware applications across the homeland security enterprise.
  • Support development and implementation of plans and policies for managing, documenting, analyzing, collecting, and implementing GII requirements across GMO projects and various technical teams, and provide recommendations to prioritize and meet requirements based on available resources.
  • Be available to the COR via telephone between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Washington, DC local time, Monday through Friday, and respond to requests for discussion or resolution of technical problems within 24 hours of notification.
  • Implement geospatial information technology solutions as part of a large team (5‑10 people) and/or serve as a small team lead (3‑4 people).
  • Proficient in managing small teamwork efforts using industry standards and methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, etc.
  • Provide tactical recommendations to the government to improve processes, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Implement geospatial information technology solutions surrounding homeland security, law enforcement, and emergency management systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with technical components of GIS and IT systems integration.
  • Proficient in managing large or multiple teams.
  • Demonstrate experience in project management using industry standards and methodologies such as Agile, PMP, etc., to efficiently manage work and resources.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the government to affect change that would improve organizational outcomes, missions, and deliverables.
