Job summary

Vantor seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to build end‑to‑end pipelines that turn raw satellite imagery into labeled data and deploy ML models for automatic annotations. You will work with domain experts and annotation partners to design robust, scalable, low‑latency systems.

You will develop production inference pipelines, track data lineage, and iterate model performance against labeled data to optimize labeling turnaround.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ML engineering, data engineering, backend software engineering, or closely related role.
• Hands-on experience training or adapting deep learning models using a modern ML framework.
• Experience deploying ML models into production, including building batch or real‑time inference pipelines and model versioning.
• Hands-on experience building and operating services on a major cloud platform, including compute, databases, storage, and IAM.
• Experience building and operating workflow orchestration for data or ML pipelines.
• Experience owning containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Proven ability to support production systems, including debugging, observability, secure configuration, and incident response.
• Strong Python application development skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, ML, Data Engineering, Geospatial Science or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable ML data processing pipelines for large geospatial imagery and metadata.
• Develop and deploy production ML models for automatic annotations and labeling.
• Build and operate inference pipelines with model feedback loops for continual improvement.
• Ensure data lineage and versioning traceability from source images to annotations.
• Collaborate with ML and software engineers to deliver end-to-end geospatial solutions.
