Job summary

Cherokee Federal seeks a Geographic Information Systems Technician to support installation planning at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. The role focuses on managing GeoBase data, ensuring SDSFIE compliance, and leading AMP mapping initiatives on-site, with CAC and DoD clearance requirements.

Responsibilities include producing various maps, performing QA/QC across SMS data sources, and delivering on-demand spatial analysis for installation stakeholders.

Qualifications

• CAC required and ability to pass DoD clearance.
• Prolonged desk work and computer-based tasks.
• Pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain installation GeoBase data, including the planning data model, feature datasets, and data layers.
• Ensure GeoBase data complies with SDSFIE requirements.
• Lead development and annual updates of AMP and Sub-AMP mapping products.
• Produce linear-segmentation maps, utility and transportation-network maps, facility-condition maps, and asset-inventory maps.
• Perform QA/QC and resolve discrepancies among GIS, BUILDER, PAVER, NexGen IT, and other SMS data sources.
• Prepare quarterly GeoBase validation reports and monthly SMS/GIS reconciliation reports.
• Provide on-demand spatial analysis, custom maps, and planning support for CES, R&O, and other installation stakeholders.
• Develop constraint maps and Comprehensive Planning Platform data layers for installation-planning efforts.
